A MULLION golfer must have surely laid claim to Britain's first hole-in-one of 2016 when he recorded an ace in the New Year's Day competition on Friday.
Mark Twynham, who has a five handicap, holed his four iron on the 200-yard par 3 first hole in dreadful weather conditions. It was the first shot of the George Thomas competition, as he hit the opening shot in the first group of the day.
Incredibly, it was the 50 year-old's tenth hole-in-one of his career, the last of which came three years ago.
Mark has been the caterer at the club for 16 months since arriving from Isles of Scilly Golf Club, where he was captain in 1994 and 2014 having lived on St Mary's for 30 years.
