FALMOUTH Docks Table Tennis Club's future is in safe hands.
Believed to be the second biggest table tennis club in the country with more than 100 members, officials work tirelessly to improve equipment.
On Saturday at the Dracaena Centre, at which they have ten tables, the club held a marathon from 10am to 10pm to raise money.
Club chairman Dennis Williams, who was one of the original members when the club formed in 1949, said: "Some of the equipment is starting to wear a bit so we need to keep updating it. We also have 15 tables at Penryn College and three at Laburnum Hall and with so many youngsters at the club, we need to keep on top of it."
The marathon was the idea of fundraiser Treeve Rowe, who spent the entire 12 hours at the centre to oversee scores of games during the day.
