CORNWALL Roller Derby All Stars gave Plymouth Roller Derby a lesson in tactics and speed last weekend winning their latest bout of the British Championships in Penzance 268 points to 122.

Having gone into the half-time break 85 points to 83 up, Cornwall’s relentless second half pressure and superior tactical awareness saw them surge 50 points clear ten minutes into the second period.

Superior jamming by Saffa Perry, Amy Teubert and Tot Walker piled the points on whilst the Cornwall pack blocked any chances for Plymouth to score.

Speaking after the game, Cornwall captain Laura ‘Nuka’ Ikamba Partridge said: “Beating our close rivals, Plymouth demonstrates just how far we have come as a squad.

“I am so proud of the whole team, bench and support crew - but we are all really really proud of our fans who turned out to cheer us on. They really made the difference today and we all thank them so much.

Cornwall is showing that is has become a force to be reckoned with in the roller derby world. With bouts against North Devon and the on form Kent Roller Girls still to come, the All Stars are heading into the second half of the championships with renewed confidence.
