FALMOUTH yacht Sarabande will be competing in the Rolex Swan Cup this week in Sardinia, Italy.

Her owner Rob Mably has sailed the boat to Sardinia to enter this event, and has taken his 13-strong Falmouth crew.

The Rolex Swan Cup is a biennial event which lures yachts from a variety of swan classes, including the Sparkman and Stephens Classic Fleet.

This is the 50th anniversary of Nautor Swan and will have the largest assembled fleet of Nautor Swan yachts ever.

Sarabande is a Classic swan 47 from the early 1970s and is a member of Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. She is based in Mylor Yacht Harbour.

All of her crew live in Cornwall and are all British except for Tom Hustler who is from New Zealand, though he now resides in Falmouth where he runs his own marine surveying business.

This regatta for Sarabande is the culmination of four years of racing in Falmouth, along the coast and in neighbouring countries.

Last year the boat entered the Rolex Fastnet race, the Azores and Back race, as well as the Cornwall Offshore Group Series (COGS). She has already successfully competed in the Volvo Round Ireland race this year where she won her class.

Updates of the racing around the Costa Smeralda can be found on the regatta website, or by checking the daily posts from Tom on board on the Seaworthy Services facebook page.
