STITHIANS' Rachel Vague collects her trophy after winning the Tempus Leisure 2016 Triathlon Series. The sixth and final event was held at the Jubliee Pool in Penzance on Sunday.

In total, more than 900 competitors have taken part in the Tempus Triathlons this year, held across Cornwall in Bodmin, Wadebridge, Helston, Falmouth, Liskeard and Penzance.

Sunday’s event at the Jubilee Pool saw more than 190 triathletes competing.

It involved a 400m swim in the open air sea water pool, followed by a 26km cycle towards Land’s End, and culminated in a 5km run along the sea front. Anne Maskell, also from Truro, won the women’s event.

The oldest competitor, 80 year old Mary Anstey, came second in the female 60+ category and third in the overall series.
