Falmouth and Penryn Boxing Club received a generous donation of £216.00 last week from Angie Parfitt of the Famous Barrel pub in Penryn after a successful hog roast at Penryn fair day.

Angie, along with help and hard work from bar staff Nellie Wilkes and Lisa Mowbray, kindly donated the profits towards a new kit for the local boxers to compete in for the new season.

Coaches Chris Martin and Dan Cole were very appreciative of this gesture from Angie as both have known her for some years and Dan Cole's late father John "Colesy" Cole was a regular character of the Famous Barrel so it was a fitting of Angie to donate to the club.

Falmouth and Penryn's Boxing Club's season is soon to kick off in early October, followed by their first home show of the season at the Dracaena Centre on November 12th.

The club's training nights are for seniors on Tuesdays at 7.30-9pm and juniors Wednesdays 6-7pm. Anyone interested in learning to box and compete for a successful club are welcome to come along and join in.
