Club and fun runners across Cornwall are being encouraged to keep their New Year’s resolutions on track by signing up for the annual An Res Hellys 10-mile multi-terrain run, taking place in and around Helston on Sunday, March 26.
Tempus has announced that entries are now open for the popular race, which attracted some 400 runners last year and is the fifth race in the Cornwall Road Running Grand Prix Series.
Starting and finishing at Penrose Amenity Area in Helston, the race takes a scenic route through the picturesque National Trust Penrose Estate and across Loe Bar Beach before heading up to the road and returning past the Culdrose Naval Base back to finish beside the boating lake.
The race is being organised by Tempus, a charity that runs 14 leisure centres and has held numerous sporting events across Cornwall. Tempus has continued its partnership with specialist local running shop At Your Pace who will be supporting the event.
Ceri Harvey, Community Leisure Events Manager at Tempus, said: "An Res Hellys has always been a very popular event in the running calendar, partly due to the picturesque route, but also thanks to the brilliant atmosphere provided by the Helston community.
"Anyone interested in running, whether club runners or beginners just starting out in the New Year, are encouraged to come along and join in the fun. It’s great to have something to aim for, and completing this event gives a real sense of achievement!”
