Eddie Manning (STR Clinton) retained his County Individual Snooker Title with a 5-3 victory against former champion Rob Johns (STR Clinton).
In an exciting, high quality final, Rob got off to the best start winning the first frame but Eddie levelled the scores by winning the second and then made breaks of 32 & 54 to go 2-1 up.
Rob bounced back with an 81 break to make it 2-2 going into the interval.
After the interval it was Rob again who got off to the better start making a 40 break and dominating the frame to make it 3-2.
Eddie made a 62 break in the sixth frame to make it 3-3 and then comfortably won the last 2 frames to win the match, finishing off the match with a 73 break.
Eddie unfortunately went out at the quarter final stage of the English Amateur Snooker Championship on the previous weekend, losing to Josh Baddeley 5-3.
Final (best of nine frames): Eddie Manning (STR Clinton) won 5-3 against Rob Johns (STR Clinton). Frame Scores – 18-58, 65-35, 87-13, 5-89, 1-89, 73-28, 66-16, 74-0.
Eddie had breaks of 32, 54, 62 & 73. Rob had breaks of 81 & 40.
