Falmouth and Penryn boxing club travelled to Torbay on Saturday for their final show of the season.

First up opening the show in his very first skills contest was Falmouth's youngest ever competitor at 11 years old Reuben Sewell boxing against Torbay's Sonny Reardon.

Fought over three one-minute rounds both boxers started at an electric pace. Reardon, being the more experienced boxer, struggled to get to grips with Sewell's sharp jab during the opening round.

The second round saw Reardon up his work rate with clusters of punches but the Falmouth boxer stuck with him throughout.

In the final round Sewell threw some lovely punches to the head and body to Reardon and pushed him back.

The Falmouth coaches were very impressed with Sewell's performance and look forward to seeing him progress next season.

Next up was Lewis Rollason in a rematch with Torrington's Nathan Board. Board, being the taller boxer worked to his disadvantage in the opening round as Rollason slipped inside Board's jab many times with short hard punches to the head and body leaving Board almost out on his feet at the end of the round.

The second round saw Board use his long reach and frustrate Rollason to take the second round.

The final round was up for grabs and with Rollason pushing forward throughout. Torrington's Board stuck to his boxing and just managed to take the bout on a split decision.

Last up for Falmouth was Brett Ralph in a top of the bill bout against the home boxer in Torbay's James Thompson. Thompson came straight out from the opening bell throwing everything he had at Ralph with no effect.

Ralph responded and matched Thompson blow for blow and started to out box his opponent at the end of the opening round.

Unfortunately for Ralph an old knee injury flared up leaving him struggling to stand leaving his coaches no option but to retire him from the contest.

Falmouth and Penryn ABC would like to thank all their boxers and followers for their continued support and hard work and look forward to starting the new season in September.
