Over the weekend Hayle Runners were out and about taking part in off road and coastal path running events across Cornwall.

On Saturday club members took part in the Mud Crew’s Quest Ultra event involving a series of runs around Tintagel.

The clubs Head Coach Charlotte Bennett is a veteran of long distance off road events.

She took part in the ultra event which took competitors over a very tough coastal path route with over 4000 steps and approximately 11000ft of elevation over the 40-mile distance.

Charlotte was fourth women home competing the event in 10 hours 8 minutes. She described it as "the toughest event I have ever done".

Steve Wherry and Paul Warmington ran the same course but as part of a team of two completing 20 miles each and took second place in the pairs event in a time of 8 hours 4 minutes. Craig Tonkin took part in the 10 mile Castle to Castle event and completed it in 2 hours 1 minute.

On Sunday Paul Sneyd took part in the inaugural 'Tin K' event a ten kilometre race over the tin mining trails of west Penwith around Geevor and Pendeen and was 7th male home.

Hayle Runners' training nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.
