Jordan Morant, from Hayle Runners, is celebrating another victory.

He has been awarded the accolade of being Cornwall's most improved male runner as well as winning his own club's trophy for a record six years.

The St Austell shield is awarded to the male runner who has been judged in the opinion of representatives of athletic and running clubs across Cornwall to have improved most in races year on year.

Jordan was viewed to be a clear winner as he has improved across the range of distances from five miles to full marathons and regularly features in the top five finishers in races.

This would be a great achievement in itself, but is even more impressive when it realised that he has been Hayle Runners' best male runner for the last six years.

Simon Knowles, club chairman, said: "Hayle Runners are immensely proud of Jordan, he has been at the top of his game for the last six years for the club, he has been ever present for us in races and always puts in a strong performance.

"He now holds the club record for winning our club runner of the year award. Retaining this hotly contested award for six years is a fantastic achievement."

Hayle Runners training nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.

On Tuesday the club runs from Hayle Rugby Club behind M+S where runners of all abilities are welcome to join 8-10 differently paced groups led by qualified Leaders and Coaches. Beginners are particularly welcomed on a Tuesday evening where a walk/ run group is supported by dedicated Leaders.
