All ages and abilities are warmly invited to try sailing for free at “Push the Boat Out Day” being held at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on Saturday, May 12, between 11am and 5pm.

Families and children are most welcome and anyone can just pop along and see if sailing and the RCYC floats their boat, with lifejackets and qualified instructors provided on the day.

Over 50 children and adults came to the RCYC Push the Boat Out Day last year and had a great time.

There will be dinghy and yacht sailing available or visitors can just enjoy a trip around the harbour. The RNLI (Lifeboats) will be there and will give anyone who needs one a free lifejacket check.

Visitors can discover the historic waterside Club House and bar, chat with Club members and get the low-down on the Club’s facilities: including its free launch service to get you out to your boat if you have one, the RYA courses on offer, exciting weekly racing, free weekly social sailing on Thursdays (known as “meandering”) and its fun social programme all year round.

It is a great place to make friends and get out on the water, and there is no need to own a boat to be a member.

If you are interested in going along and would like further information visit www.royalcornwallyachtclub.org , or call 01326 312126.
