St Ives Town collected a deserved three points in their home match against local rival Penzance Reserves.

Scott Goodchild was the Saints hero as he bagged both goals to record their 11th win of the season.

The home side took the lead on 23 minutes as Ross Duncan ran into the Penzance box before squaring the ball to Goodhcild to fire past Ryan Gendall from 15 yards out.

Gendall was the more active of the two keepers and was forced into two smart saves before the interval to deny Martyn Harding and Duncan.

Goodchild then made it 2-0 on 50 minutes as he converted an excfellent cross from Harding.

Charlie Shields then hit the Penzance post, before Harding was denied by the visitors’ crossbar.

However, Penzance were not without their chances in the second half and hit the woodwork twice themselves through Jimmy England and Stuart Strong.
