Lewis Moody will be spending the day at Redruth Rugby Club on Friday.
A British Lion, captain of England with 71 caps, Lewis played in three World Cups, and will always be remembered for winning the lineout in injury time from which Jonny Wilkinson dropped the goal to win the World Cup for England against Australia in 2003.
During the day, between 11am and 3pm, Redruth Rugby will be running coaching sessions for mini and junior boys and girls between 6 and 16 years. The cost is £10 to include lunch and a drink. Lewis will be taking a full part and passing on his wealth of experience to the youngsters, as well as taking time out for photographs and autographs.
The sessions are open to all comers irrespective of experience and full details are available from Dave Wills on 07718912898.
Players will be coached in various aspects of rugby by qualified coaches and senior playing members from the club. In the evening, the action will move to the clubhouse, when Lewis Moody will introduce the launch of the Reds kit for 2012-2013 supplied by Gilbert Rugby.
At 7.30pm there will be a fashion show with the full range modelled by Redruth senior players as well as members of the minis and juniors.
Supporters are asked to bring their old Stash and Nike replica shirts to trade in and receive a £5 discount on the new Gilbert replica shirt. All traded kit will be donated to IRB SOS Kit Aid. All
shirt purchases without trade in on the night will receive a free SOS Kit Aid Rugby Ball worth £9.
Both Gilbert and Redruth Rugby expressed their pleasure in entering a three-year contract.
James Williams regional sales manager Gilbert Rugby, said: “Redruth RFC is a club with enormous tradition, history and support, with its famous Hellfire Corner known throughout the rugby world. We could not have chosen a better partner down in the southwest, and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership”
Jeff Knuckey, commercial manager, Redruth Rugby, said: “We are delighted to have tied up a deal with an iconic International brand leader such as Gilbert to be our kit and leisurewear supplier.. The icing on the cake for us is to welcome Lewis Moody to the club on the 10th August to work with local minis and juniors during the day and to officially launch our kit in the clubhouse in the evening.”
