Matt Drummond, who is set to miss the first three months of the season
Falmouth Town's Matt Drummond is set to miss the first three months of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League season after fracturing his fibula in a match on Sunday.
The player picked up the injury in the second minute of the CSWPL Charity Bowl match against Bodmin Town on Sunday.
It came following a challenge from Bodmin Town's Shane Krac, but Falmouth Town's director of football Steve Kimberley told the Packet that Drummond did not believe the challenge was a bad one.
Kimberley also thanked the Bodmin Town medical staff for their help with Drummond's injury.
He was taken to Treliske hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured fibula and a fragmented bone inside his left ankle.
The news of his injury will come as a big blow to Falmouth. The player was one of the club's star strikers. He netted them 35 goals last term.
