Cornwall Junior Cup first round draw made

The draw for the first round of this season's Cornwall Junior Cup has been made, pitting last season's finalists Illogan RBL Reserves against fellow Trelawny League premier division side Redruth Athletic.

The Cornwall Junior Cup sees adult sides, playing below the Cornwall Combination League, battle it out for a place in the final.

The draw is split into two sides for west and east Cornwall, with the winners of both regions meeting for a final on Easter Monday.

Last season Illogan got to the final, but lost to Saltash United Reserves.

The draw this year also sees Helston Athletic Reserves, who defeated the odds to reach last season's west final, given a home draw against Penryn Athletic Thirds, who play in the division below them in the Trelawny League.

The competition begins on Saturday, September 22, with a preliminary round draw between newly formed Mabe and Holman SC Reserves.

The first round draw will take place on Saturday, October 13.
