ST GLUVIAS lost their third County Division One game of the season with a five wicket defeat at Wadebridge.

The visitors elected to bat and were handily placed at 115-3 after Jake Preston opened with 24 before Jon Udy, 24, and Matt Julian, 39, put on 52.

However a collapse ensued with Alek Gill, two for 30, and Rob Centini, two for 26, reducing them to 131-8 before Stuart Parkyn then came back to collect the last two wickets.

Wadebridge were 18-2 but Nick Yelland added 78 with Charlie Ellis at 100-3 when rain arrived.

After an hour's delay, Yelland's run-a-ball 77, with four sixes secured the win.

Phil Bostock had impressive figures of one for 12 off eight overs while Richard Kellow, Jon Udy and Preston also took a wicket each.

Praze lost their first league game when they went down to a three wicket defeat at St Just seconds.

They made 196 with Damian Lynes hitting 60 after Ben James opened with 28 and Sam James 24 while Damon Fillery took three for 22.

Openers Jim McKenna, 60, and Sam Capstick, 38, got the home side off to a good start before Sam McKenna made 35 not out to steer his side home with over five overs to spare.

Stithians lost by the big margin of 182 runs at home to Troon, who made 289 all out off the last ball of their fifty overs with Shane Richards scoring 128.

Mark Rowe and Callum Martin both took three wickets and the latter top scored in Stithians' disappointing reply of 107 all out in 44 overs, with Jamie Goldsworthy took five for 13 from ten overs.

Falmouth seconds prop up Division Two after a 92 run defeat at Camborne.

Sohail Tariq took three for 33 in Camborne’s 215-9, but Falmouth slumped to 73-8 before their leading bowler top scored with 22 and Greg Stephens made 19 in the 123 all out.

Constantine took over from Wendron at the top of Division Three thanks to an 81 run win at Underlane as the visitors impressed with the bat in making 251-7.

Graham Griffiths made 72 after Charlie Campbell’s 34 and Matt Ambrose was unbeaten 37 not out.

Wendron were all out for 170 with Griffiths completing a fine game with four for 32.

Perranarworthal are in fourth spot after an eight wicket win at Barripper.

After James Adams took four wickets Andrew Brotherton made an unbeaten fifty.

Leedstown lost at home to Goldsithney by 26 runs as Giles Lawrence made 105 to help the visitors score 251-4 declared in 38 overs.

The Leedstown top order made a good response with Paul Glanville making 80. Ty Hendra 39 and Andrew Robinson 58.

However, the tail collapsed to 215 all out with a couple of overs to spare.

Mullion lost at home to Mount Hawke & Porthtowan by 46 runs.

After losing an early wicket the visitors got to 130 before losing a second with Tom Williams scoring 61 and Ryan Thomas 58.

Charlie Hearn and Ryan Tonkin both took two wickets in the 247-7.

Mullion’s top order all produced with Dean Fletcher, Jonty Wheatley, Jim Pearson, Luke Tripconey all passing 20 before Mark Hall made 52.

They took full batting points to end on 201-9.

St Gluvias seconds won a high scoring game against Gulval at Kernick by 59 runs with Jack Hesketh hitting his second league ton of the season, 117 not out, while skipper Richard Bannister made 73 and took three for 46.

Porthleven had a five wicket home win over Truro thirds after the visitors were bowled out for 109 with Brad Bury taking three for 21 and Mark Pollard three for 29.

A second wicket stand of 74 between Chris Cattlin, 27, and Paul Combellack, 42, set up the win.

Karl Leathley made 81 in Helston seconds’ 129 run win over Stithians.
