MULLION recorded their maiden Mining Division Evening League win of 2015 by beating neighbours Porthleven on Wednesday.

Their 35 run victory at Garro Lane saw them get off the mark in Group B of the Twenty20 competition and puts them on level pegging with their opponents and also Praze.

Last year's runners-up Helston are still sitting pretty in first place, having won all three of their games so far.

Gary Pollard's 78 not out set Mullion up for success as the opener scored more than half the runs for his side as they finished on 145-3.

He was assisted by Joe Casley who scored 48, falling shy of a 50 when he was caught by Peter Sincock off Darren Parrish's bowling.

Steve Bury hit a half century in Porthleven's reply before the opener was bowled by Ryan Tonkin shortly after reaching the landmark.

Apart from his innings, there was not much else to admire on the visitor's scorecard as only Chris Cattlin, 11, and Bradley Bury, 15, reached double figures, with the innings ending on 110-8.

Runs were stemmed in the innings by Luke Tripconey as the Mullion bowler claimed four wickets for just 13 runs.

In Group D, Constantine maintained their 100 per cent win record with a 40 run victory at St Gluvias.

Batting first, the visitors compiled a score of 139-5 with former Saints player Mat Ambrose getting 41 not out,.

However, the highlight of the innings came from a remarkable one handed catch by Imran Bashir as, with the ball going over his shoulder, he managed to push it up in the air before plucking it while tumbling to the ground, ending Charlie Campbell's innings on 36.

A terrible start was made by the hosts in their reply as Chris Johnson and Ben Cocks were both caught from the first two balls of the innings.

The team never recovered from this poor beginning and were eventually all out for 99 with Mark Bannister's 21 being the top score.

Mount Hawke got revenge on Perranarworthal, putting them on level points at the top of Group C in the process alongside their opponents.

When the sides met in the opening round of fixtures, Perranarworthal secured a 46 run victory.

This time though, last season's champions turned the tables as they got home in a low scoring game.

Perranarworthal finished their innings on 82-9 and in reply, the Mount bagged the win with two overs and three wickets to spare.
