CONSTANTINE are just one game away from achieving a perfect win record in this year's Mining Division Evening League group stage.

On Tuesday evening, the club bagged their seventh victory in the competition as they defeated Mawnan by eight wickets.

Richard Carne took four for 18 as the hosts were reduced to 104-9 in their 20 overs at Carwinion Playing Field before Constantine knocked the target off with relative ease.

Top scoring in the chase was Mat Ambrose with 35 not out, although the evening's best batting performance came from Mawnan's Rob Eccleston who hit four sixes in his 50.

On Wednesday, Constantine contest their last fixture in the group stage as they host Wendron.

Elsewhere in Group D, Stithians completed a seven wicket win at home over St Gluvias with four-and-a-half overs to spare.

Despite making a good start to their innings, with Richard Bannister scoring 42, the Saints could only muster 108 runs before being bowled out.

Next up for the Saints is a home match against Mawnan on Wednesday evening.

John Millership led the charge in response, falling three runs short of a half century, while Adam Lockwood scored an unbeaten 33.

In Group B, Praze completed a 130 run win over Porthleven, scoring 214-5 before reducing their opponent's to 84-9 off 20 overs.
