THE DIVISION Two title hopes of Praze suffered another dent on Saturday, when they crashed to a 99 run home defeat against fellow challengers Paul at the Playing Field.

Praze are now back in fourth spot and are 30 points behind the leaders Rosudgeon, who they play on the last day of the season.

Paul made 215 all out in the last over with Harvey James' 75 being the top score.

Jevon Nolan wrapped up the tail to take four for 38 after Ben James and Josh Thomas took two wickets each.

Praze were never in serious contention with only Stuart Pethick, 27, Grant Rowe, 14, and Aaron Futcher, 23, in double figures in the 115 all out.

Craig Osborne, Tim Edwards and Jack Lugg took three wickets each.

Stithians went down to their tenth defeat of the season when they were well beaten at St Just by seven wickets, with over nine overs to spare, writes Michael Weeks.

Having opted to bat they lost their first three wickets for 68 but Nathan Strick made 28 before Callum Martin hit 55 and Andrew Lean 58 not out in the respectable total of 228-5.

It was nowhere near enough however as opener Scott Meagor steered St Just to victory with an unbeaten 101, while Jim McKenna made 53 not out.

Ben Tann, Kieran Webber and Lean took the wickets with Stithians hosting strugglers St Ives on Saturday.

Falmouth seconds have a busy weekend ahead.

Last weekend’s home game with Gulval has been put back to this Sunday and before this, they travel to leaders Rosudgeon on Saturday.

Constantine’s title hopes in Division Three suffered a blow with a five wicket defeat at Botallack & St Levan.

They lie third now, 18 points behind leaders Goldsithney, who they host on the last day of the season, with only 36 points cover the top nine teams with six games to play.

After Kevin Bosustow made 18, the only other player to get double figures was Graham Griffiths, who played a lone hand with his 66.

Paul Angove took five for 29 in the 113 all out.

Griffiths, four for 51, then took four very quick wickets as the visitors sniffed a chance but opener John Hooley batted through for 61, with victory coming in the 26th over.

Constantine host Mt Hawke this week, who are in fifth spot.

Wendron are down to ninth now in Division Three after losing their eighth game of the season, to Perranarworthal at Tredrea.

The home side made the big total of 249-8 and went on to win by 43 runs.

Andrew Brotherton made 40, Scott Martin 55 and Ben Toulson 48 for the home side while Antony Harris picked up three for 66.

Ryan Mitchell made 57 to hold the Wendron innings together after Harris got 22 at the top of the order and Craig Owens hit 28 as they ended on 206-9.

Stuart Madeley made two early strikes with Dave Taylor and Lee Coston also picking up two each.

Keeper Ben Conroy held on to four catches and made a stumping.

Wendron host leaders Goldsithney at Underlane on Saturday.

Redruth seconds have been climbing the table and are up to second after a 121 run win at Leedstown.

They made 229 with Ryan Downing making 51 as Alastair Cooper and Andrew George took three wickets each for the hosts.

Josh Curnow made 26 and Musa Abbass made 21 as Leedstown stuttered to 108 all out.

They have a derby at Hayle on Saturday.

Mullion got their fourth win with a 85 run success at bottom club Barripper.

After losing their first four wickets for 52, Mark Hall scored 87 not out and shared a fifth wicket stand of 144 with Dan Johnson, who made 50.

Needing 217, the home side were all out for 131 as Johnson completed a fine game to take six for 46 from ten overs and Steve Green took two for 22.

St Gluvias seconds kept the pressure on Penzance at the top of Division Four with a 147 run win over St Buryan at Kernick Road.

Jack Hesketh made 34 and Neil Pearce 38 not out as a good team effort saw 201 posted.

Bowling unchanged, Richard Bannister took six for 29, and Sam Duckham four for 21.

Captain and club chairman Bannister now has taken 18 wickets in the last three games.

Porthleven won by five wickets at Stithians.

The home side were all out for 55 with Brad Bury taking four for 10 and Dylan Mitchell four for 12.

Port lost quick wickets before Bury got them home with 20 not out.

Helston seconds crashed to defeat at Beacon who were all out for 151, with Peter Boyd taking four wickets, before being shot out for 50 in reply.

In Division Five, Michael Cockings hit 103 for Mullion seconds in their 148 run win over St Gluvias thirds.

Mawnan had a day to forget at Paul going down by nine wickets, after being dismissed for 96.
