FORMER Falmouth all-rounder Antony Angove will join the coaching team at Penzance Cricket Club next season.

The 26 year old, who joined Helston CC as a player two months ago, has taken the part time role as part of the St Clare club's ambitious ten-year vision.

Penzance secretary Brian Richards said: "Whilst the search for the new Director of Cricket

Development is ongoing, we also wanted to make progress on the appointment of the

part time coaching staff. We are delighted to welcome Antony to the club and very excited about his potential contribution in the upcoming years.

"A key principle of the new vision is around the three Cs, namely, club, county and community and to that end, we were keen to give young, motivated and committed Cornish players the opportunity to become professional coaches. Antony fits the bill perfectly, and with his passion and the club's support in helping him obtain his coaching qualifications, we see great

potential benefit to that ambition of underpinning club, county and community."

Brian added that they had received over 30 applications from all over the world for the post of Director of Cricket Development.

The selection process is now in full swing, with the hope that an offer will be made and accepted in late January.
