CORNWALL Cricket Board Ltd have appointed Chris Hunkin as Cricket Development Officer.

He comes with a wealth of coaching and development experience, having been involved for the last 12 years in the County.

Chris has previously worked for the Cricket Board as a community cricket coach, working with schools and clubs through Chance to Shine, County youth and EPP coaching. He is also a very experienced coach tutor and will have a key role in developing coaching throughout the county as well as the player pathway.

Sean Hooper from the Cornish Cricket Company and former CEO of CCB Ltd said: “We are delighted that Chris has been able to progress his career with Cornwall Cricket Board, we wish him all the best in his new role developing and helping cricket progress in the county.”

Chris will take up his post full time on the March 1, based at the Cornwall Cricket Centre. He will be heavily involved in developing a girls’ Chance to Shine programme across Cornwall, whilst working with the clubs associated with the programme. There are other exciting plans afoot with a 7-9 academy, club and coaching workshops as well as coach mentoring.

Cornwall Cricket Board are excited about this development having an excellent coach, with high qualifications and experience who will be instrumental in developing our young players and coaches of ages.
