CORNWALL Association of Cricket Groundsmen made special awards for the first time at their annual meeting at the Cornwall Cricket Centre.
Two Groundsmen of the Year Awards were made, with St Austell's Ian Trembath and Mount Hawke & Porthtowan's Chris Looker receiving trophies from the CEO of the Cornwall Cricket Board, Simon Menneer.
Ten groundsmen were awarded Lifetime Achievement awards: Bill Williams (St Gluvias), Len Roberts (Luckett), George Dengler (Constantine), Steve Snell (Paul), John Martin (Helston), Dave Trudgeon (Roche), Geoff Hills (Launceston), Bryan Riddle (Redruth/Troon), Doug Oats (Leedstown) & Robin Marchant (Liskeard).
The CACG Officials were all re-elected with the exception of treasurer Trevor Crane, who is replaced by Carolyn Fry (Tintagel CC). Kevin O’Kelly is the chairman and Keith Goldsmith the secretary.
Simon Menneer was elected unopposed as CEO, having been in the post in an acting capacity since Sean Hooper stood down in September. Andrew Jones was also formerly elected Director of Development. He has also been in the post in an acting capacity since it was vacated by Simon Menneer in September.
