It was a good weekend for Stithians CC as they managed to record two victories despite the weather.

Stithians 198-6 Paul II 48

Stithians match was the only game to go ahead in division two west where Paul seconds journeyed.

The home side did well in their 32 overs with Martin Strick making an unbeaten 89 and Craig Mouatt 43. Ryan Burley, Adam Strick and Nathan Strick had all departed early. Jack Lugg took three for 68. Paul crashed to 48 all out with Michael Creeden taking six for five. His remarkable figures were 8-6-5-6.

Stithians 198-6 (M Strick 89 no, C Mouatt 43, J Lugg 3-68) Paul 48 (M Creeden 6-5, G Furnival 2-10) Stithians (19 pts) beat Paul (4pts) by 150 runs in a match reduced to 32 overs.

Stithians 118 Rosudgeon 88

On Sunday Rosudgeon visited Stithians in a rearranged game, put back due to a wedding in early June.

Rosudgeon did well to bowl the leaders out for 118 in the 38th of 40 possible overs. Sushil Parbhoo and Matt Jacka both took three wickets. Rosudgeon crashed to 88 all out with Mark Waters getting over half the total with 45 not out. Liam Harvey was next best with 11. The win gives Stithians a 26 point lead at the top of the table over Helston.

Stithians 118 (G Furnival 53no; S Parbhoo 3-20, Matt Jacka 3-38, M Waters 2-35), Rosudgeon 88 (M Waters 45no M Creeden 4-9, M Strick 3-33, B Tann 2-22). Rosudgeon (17 points) beat Rosudgeon (seven) by 30 runs in a match reduced to 40 overs.

On Saturday Stithians host Redruth seconds and Rosudgeon entertain third placed St Gluvias. Falmouth seconds are at Paul seconds
