Falmouth Cricket Club suffered a heavy defeat on Saturday as they fell to a 189-run defeat against St Just.

St Just were first into bat and declared at 402-3, as the Falmouth bolwers had a torrid time. David Roberts reached 171 not out, while G Thomas also made a century at 115 not out.

Scott Kellow did manage to take two wickets for Falmouth but, with G May adding 52 runs to the total himself, Falmouth were left with a mountain to climb.

In reply Scott Kellow reached 45 not out with the bat, but Falmouth could only reach 213.

Elsewhere in the ECB Premier League, Werrington remain top of the table after beating Callington by four wickets.

It is only the second loss Callington have suffered this season, having been knocked off the top the table of last weekend when they were beaten at home to St Just.

Troon continue to struggle at the bottom end of the table as they were by 105 runs by St Austell.

As a result Grampound Road have put further distance between themselves and bottom club Troon, with a nine-wicket win against Paul CC.

The only other match saw mid-table Truro CC beat Camborne by 26 runs.
