Falmouth push for a top five finish in the ECB Cornwall Premier League took another set back when they were beaten by champions Truro on Saturday.

Justin Stephens made 58 not out and Richard Kellow added 40, but Falmouth were bowled out for 169.

In reply Truro's T Marrion hit 59 and R Harrison 25 not out as they reached 172 for six. The four wicket defeat was a blow for Adrian Noott's Falmouth. They had started the season well, but last week's heavy defeat to St Just and this weekend's defeat to Truro has set them back.

Elsewhere Callington's season appears to be falling apart. They were leading the table just three weeks ago, without having lost a match. However, losses to St Just and Werrington have proved costly and on Saturday they were beaten by Camborne.

Callington reached 120-9, a total that Camborne managed to reach with five wickets to spare thanks partly to N King's 47 and K Roberts' 33.

St Just continued their good reacent form with 115-run win over Paul, while Garmpound Road beat St Austell by 83-runs.

Werrington still lead the table though after they beat struggling Troon by eight wickets.
