9:37am Thursday 11th March 2010

Saturday saw Falmouth Golf Club playing in their third Frank Wills Slaver Final in six years, contesting this prestigious County competition against a strong Lanhydrock Golf Club team, played in sunny but cold and conditions at Newquay Golf Club. After the 18-hole morning round, with five teams of two player competing, Falmouth were up in two matches but Lanhdyrock had the slight upper hand, as they had strong leads in the other three matches. Even with strong support from the large number of Falmouth Golf club members who turned up to support, Falmouth played their socks off, but they couldn't overturn the morning score and eventually went down after the final 36 holes with a score line of 1 ½ to 3 ½ to the winners, Landhydrock Golf Club.
