Robbie Stephens's first game without joint-manager Les Gilbert ended in defeat on Thursday night as Falmouth Town were beaten 4-0 by Peninsula League division one west Mousehole in a pre-season friendly.

It was a depleted Town side that took on former Falmouth player Wayne Quinn's new-look Mousehole outfit, which also featured former Falmouth captain Mark Vercesi.

New signing from Pendeen, Wade Brown, hit the target twice for Mousehole, with joint-manager Matt Shiels pitching in with a brace of his own.

Although the result may set alarm bells ringing in some quarters, manager Robbie Stephens said he still hoped to make signings before the start of the Peninsula League season on Saturday, August 10, when Falmouth kick off their premier division campaign at home against last season's runners up, Plymouth Parkway.
