FALMOUTH Town are hoping Ed Timmons and Nick Hurst can form a powerful partnership down the right wing for the club.

It was confirmed last week Timmons had returned to Bickland Park after leaving for Illogan RBL in November and he featured as a substitute during Saturday’s 4-2 loss against Plymouth Parkway.

Between his departure and return to Town, Timmons’ space down the right has been occupied by Hurst who has impressed many since joining from Wadebridge Town.

Gary Pascoe, the club’s assistant manager, believes it will prove to be a good thing for the club having the pair in the same side.

“Both are quality footballers who understand the game well and have good work ethics,” Pascoe said.

“What is nice about Ed returning is he contacted us asking to come back, so that shows our reputation is building and he’s a quality player who we could really do with in the team.

“Nick has been really good for us since coming in, and although he does have ten minute spells where things don’t go his way, but he doesn’t give up and when he does get on a roll, he’s does good things.”

Falmouth Packet:

Ed Timmons has returned to Falmouth Town after joining Illogan RBL in October.

Next up for Town is a match against fellow South West Peninsula League Premier strugglers Elburton Villa, who travel to Bickland Park on Saturday.

Even though their opponents are second from bottom in the table, Pascoe said Falmouth have to prepare for the game like they are coming up against a top half side.

Pascoe said: “What is important for us is that we put in a performance against teams like Elburton who are around us in the table like we would try and do against some the teams chasing the title.

“We have to approach the game like we would against a game with the league champions, which is something we don’t always do against the lower teams.”
