WAYNE Hughes has confirmed he has resigned as Falmouth Town's first team boss just three weeks before the 2015/16 season commences.

Hughes took over the role last season after John Dent stood down in October, starting as caretaker before being offered the position on a permanent basis.

Under his guidance, the Ambers avoided relegation from the South West Peninsula League Premier with many spectators applauding ithe improvements made to their style of play.

A statement posted by the club on the Cornish Football Forum said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Falmouth Town are now looking for a new manager for their South West Peninsula team for the 2015/16 season.
