Falmouth Town have picked up their first win of the Carlsberg SW Peninsula League campaign tonight (Tuesday) by beating Liskeard Athletic 4-1 at Lux Park.

Looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Tavistock, Falmouth made one change to the weekend's side recalling Kirk Davies to the starting line-up in place of the injured Jamie Webb.

Robbie Almond fired a good effort wide for Liskeard early on, while Ross Pope missed a close range effort at the other end for Falmouth.

Liskeard took the lead on the 29th minute through Aaron Hulme to leave Falmouth trailing at the break.

Further chances fell to Liskeard's Steve Sims and Chris Clarke at the start of the second half, but visiting keeper Jason Chapman denied them with good saves.

It proved to be the turning point in the match as shortly after a long ball was played up field for Falmouth's Mark Vercesi to run onto and fire home a 55th minute equaliser.

Wayne Quinn then scored in the 67th minute to put Town in front and Glen Squires completed a good evening for Falmouth by netting two late goals.
