Illogan RBL 4 Falmouth Town 1

Falmouth Town stunned Combination League leaders Illogan to take the lead at Oxland Parc, but the defending champions came back to win in some style.

Tom Richards opened the scoring for Marc Rose and Danny Knowles's side in the 25th minute when he found the top corner from just inside the box.

But Illogan hit back thanks to a goal from Dan Bowman, who followed up his opener with Illogan's second before the break.

Former Penryn Athletic midfielder Matt Roberts put Illogan 3-1 up, and Sam Waters completed the scoring to keep us his superb goalscoring record.

Despite the result going against them, Rose and Knowles will be pleased with the way their side played and hopeful Town can start picking up some much-needed points in the final third of the season.

Perranwell 6 Goonhavern 0

Goonhavern have spent months hovering above the JCCL drop zone, with only Porthleven and Troon's woeful form preventing them from slipping into either of the bottom two spots.

Saturday's game at Perranwell  was yet another one to forget, with the home side scoring three first half goals to effectively kill the game off early.

Luke Brabyn opened the scoring for Perranwell, before Liam Paddock finished from close range, and scored his second just before the break.

Brabyn scored his second after the restart, with Matt Gilbert and Mike Rollason completing the scoring.

Perranwell sit ninth in the table with little left to play for this season.

How Goonhavern would love to trade places. They face a desperate struggle to stay up, with a tough game against St Just up next.

Porthleven 0 Falmouth Athletic 0

From Goonhavern's point of view the only positive to take from anotherwise miserable weekend was Porthleven's draw at Gala Parc against Falmouth Athletic.

Both sides had players sent off, with Jack Prowse and Athletic's Ben Richardson given their marching orders as the two sides struggled to get going on what was a boggy playing surface.

Port forward Fraser Patterson's header came back off the upright in the 88th minute, but try as they might Tony Robert's side were unable to find the back of the net.

Port face Penryn Athletic in the Supplementary Cup next weekend, but return to league action a week later when they make the trip to relegation rivals Troon.

The result of that game could decide Port's fate. Nothing less than a win will do.

Ludgvan 5 Troon 1

Ludgvan kept up the pressure on league leaders Illogan and second placed Wendron with an easy win over bottom club Troon.

The home side move level on points with Wendron, and despite having played two games more than Paul Murray's side, their five goal mauling of Troon serves as a timely reminder that the title race is far from over.

Gerans James - who else - did the damage for Ludgvan, scoring four goals to take his tally for the season to an incredible 40 goals.

James is now 18 short of the league record, which seems destined to be broken.

He put the home side ahead, before converting a penalty at the second attempt.

Dave Mitchell pulled one back for Troon, before James completed his hat-trick and Tom Richards added a fifth.

And James had the final say late on when he bagged his fourth goal of the game.

Newquay 2 Hayle 2

Hayle went 2-1 up before half tiome at Mount Wise, and looked well placed to go on and win the game, only for Newquay to dig in and earn themselves a point.

Danny Richards scored both goals for the visitors, the first when he converted a cross from the right, and the second a bullet header following a deflected free kick on the edge of the box.

But Ollie Downing pulled one back for Newquay before the break, and after the restart the home side were much improved.

Nathan Starkey eventually tucked away the equaliser for the Peppermints, lobbing the keeper late on in the game.
