INJURY time woes struck Porthleven on Saturday as they went crashing out of the Cornwall Charity Cup.

Wadebridge Town left Gala Parc with a 3-0 win courtesy of a brace from Liam Dingle alongside a strike from Danny O’Hagan.

All three of the goals came in stoppage time in the first and second halves on a day when the Fishermen deserved more.

However, without top goalscorer Jordan Annear, midfielder Sam Kay and defender Tom Hawkins all absent from their side, Port will have to wait another year before playing in the competition again.

The home side had plenty of chances to get on the scoresheet during the match, with captain Tom Annear going close early on as he sent a free kick just a few metres away from the edge of the area over the bar.

Gary Richards was the next Port player who nearly score as shot on the turn from an angle whistled over the goal before Matt Best saw his effort pushed wide by the goalkeeper.

With 45 minutes gone, it seemed like the half would end 0-0.

However, by the time the half time whistle went, Port found themselves 2-0 down.

Both strikes came from Dingle after being set up by Liam Ames.

For the first goal, Ames’ cross into the box found his team-mate who had the simple task of plodding the ball into an empty net.

Moments later Dingle added a second when Ames’ cut back found him at the back post.

Port came out after the break and were still creating chances with the Greet brothers, Jamie and Dan, nearly pulling off a fine move only for the latter to hit his shot over.

Liam Hunter also came close to making it 2-1 as he latched onto Best’s brilliant pass, but could chip the ball over the bar as he came under pressure.

It proved not to be the host’s day and this was confirmed in the fourth of six minutes injury time when Benji Bryant saw O’Hagan’s shot squirm under his body and into the goal.

The goalkeeper made amends for this two minutes later when he produced a fine double save from O’Hagan.
