HELSTON Athletic manager Sid Taylor said his side will be looking to get their own back on Penryn Athletic on Saturday.

The teams meet at Kellaway Park on Saturday in the South West Peninsula League West less than two months since they last played each other.

On September 24, Steve Jewell’s men pulled off a 5-4 victory over the Blues to hand them their first defeat of the season in any competition.

This result sparked a run which has seen Taylor’s side lose three out of five league games, dropping them from first in the league.

They go into the match though having beaten Wadebridge Town 3-2, coming from 2-0 down to grab a late victory.

Taylor said the lads are still looking to re-find their top form again and are motivated for Saturday’s clash.

He said: “They were the first team to beat us this season and on the night we lost probably because a couple of our guys did not quite reach their best and underachieved.

“That night was the start of our blip in form and we are certainly looking to exact a bit of revenge against Penryn.

“The lads are really up for it so I don’t think I’ll need to motivate them much.

“But we know they are a good young side and they are in the league position they are for a good reason, so we are going to have to play to a high tempo and stick to our plan to have a chance.”
