GOALS in the last 11 minutes saw Falmouth Town fail to hold out for any points on Saturday.

Sam Dicken and Nicky Ford got on the scoresheet late-on for Cullompton Rangers at Bickland Park as they showed a more clinical touch on the attack in the South West Peninsula League Premier clash.

It was an even game with a draw a fairer result overall, but the Ambers will rue poor passing which conceded possession too often and a lack of poise in front of goal.

Mike Vanes should have put the hosts ahead 19 minutes in when he got on the end a flowing move between Glen Squires and Sam Bromley down the left, but despite having clear sight at goal the midfielder hooked his shot wide.

Jason Peters was forced into three good saves in the space of a minute before the first half was up as he prevented strikes from Dicken and Josh Luxon hitting the back of the net.

After the break, Town failed to find their way through Rangers' defence with the hosts having to make do with long range shots.

Just before the hour mark, Bromley had a great chance to open the scoring after fending Ash Donohue off the ball just outside Cullompton's box, but the winger went for a shot even though he had space to run into the penalty area for a chance to try his luck nearer the goal.

With the match looking like finishing as a draw, Rangers dealt Town a sucker punch when a ball from the left found Dicken free in the box who then rounded Peters and tapped home.

Falmouth pushed forward for an equaliser, but their attempts were fruitless and with three minutes left, Ford volleyed in at the back post after Marcus Fanson's cross found him.
