PLYMOUTH Parkway flxed their muscles in a first half display at Bickland Park which pushed Falmouth Town aside on Saturday.

The defending South West Peninsula League Premier champions went 4-1 up in the opening 45 minutes, which would give them the win even after having Jordan Trott sent off in the 52nd minute.

Town used their man advantage to good affect by pulling a second goal back, but they had fallen too far behind to pull off a comeback.

Before the game, Ambers boss Wayne Hughes said he thought Parkway were the best team in the league and the visitors showed their strengths when Paul Heveran sent a cross field ball to Andrew Neal in the box, with the striker grabbing his 33rd goal of the season.

Parkway were dominating matters in the midfield, often opening up their hosts, but it was Town who scored next when a few passes were strung together, something they had been struggling to do, before Rob Wearne side footed a shot past Josh Colwill.

Momentum was not allowed to gather for the home team though as Parkway upped the tempo and grabbed three goals in a ten minute spell before half time through Marcus Martin, Levi Landricombe and Neal.

The game was now a bit flat, but things livened up in the second half when Trott saw red after becoming angry with Glen Squires and wrapping his hands round the Town strikers' neck.

This allowed Falmouth more time on the ball, but they were unable to barge through Parkway's defence efficiently.

Sam Bromley struck the post for Town before Wearne added a second to his name with nine minutes left after a through ball by Ed Timmons, who returns to the club from Illogan RBL, set him up.
