THIS could have been a difficult encounter for Penryn as they took on Sticker just four days after the team's clashed in the Charity Cup semi final.

Although Sticker have had a good season and are still above Penryn in table, they have started to slip noticeably recently as this highly competitive season has started to take its toll.

After Tuesday night's outstanding success Penryn could have finished off Sticker in the first quarter of the match, but will be content with a convincing win.

After 25 minutes Penryn took the lead as Ollie Moody's overhit corner eventually came back to him, and his second ball in clipped off the head of Ed Wilton to give Penryn the lead.

There were numerous chances to finish Sticker off but in the last quarter of the first half, the visitors started to rally forcing Scott Palmer to push away a Liam Dingle free kick, and then tipped over brilliantly after an inswinging shot from Sam Kenny.

Early in the second half, second team all-rounder Ross Symonds came on for Ed Wilton and, within 10 minutes, man-of-the-match Ollie Moody careered down the left towards goal, beating Sticker's captain and goalkeeper Ryan Holland with a shot that went in after clipping the far post.

A badly deflated Sticker side were soon in trouble again on 66 minutes, as the marauding Luke Brabyn cut the ball across the goalmouth, allowing second team striker Ryan Reeve to touch inside Holland's far right hand post.

This was Penryn's third win against important opposition on the bounce, but despite this remain fourth place in the table.

PENRYN: Palmer, Blizzard, Oliver (c), Dunn, Brabyn, Johnson, Chinn, Moody, Lawrence, Wilton (Symonds 51), Reeve (Harding 85).
