Falmouth Town U14s celebrated a great win against Helston in a top-of-the-table clash this weekend to move into first place.

Before the game, former Falmouth Town captain and chairman Jon Garwood spoke to the young players to offer his support, and inspired them to a 7-3 win.

On the scoresheet was Dylan Murray recording his first hat-trick for the club, and James Godwin and Harry Browning each bagging a brace.

In a great team performance, Josh Renowden and Will Meredith were the other standouts in midfield and defence respectively.

Coach Kenny Cox said: “It was a nail biting thriller to watch at times, the attacking and defending by both teams was second to none.

“It is great to see youth football on a Sunday, and all I can say is well done to the lads.”

Falmouth will be looking to keep their unbeaten run going when they take on Newquay away this weekend.
