Penryn Ath 8, Nanpean 0

PENRYN set up a mouthwatering clash against neighbouring Wendron in the last 16 of the Cornwall Senior Cup after cruising to victory at Kernick Road on Saturday.

Four goals in the opening half an hour effectively killed the game as a contest but the hosts were in ruthless mood against a club with which they have enjoyed many memorable Eveley Cup matches dating back to the 1980s.

It took less than two minutes for Penryn to open their account, when Kevin Lawrance and Dave Broglino combined to set up 17 year old David Leach, who headed home in style.

Will Harding then slid in the second before Broglino carved out another chance, this time for Ryan Reeve to slot home in the 22nd and 25th minutes respectively.

Reeve then headed a fourth after 30 minutes and it was more of the same after the interval, this time Ollie Moody profiting from Nanpean keeper Chris Wenmouth's first real mistake.

Substitutes Ryan Chinn and Scott Palmer were introduced on the hour mark and it was the latter who scored the hosts' sixth goal.

Luke Brabyn, who had been caught offside on several occasions earlier in the game, finally sprung the trap and helped himself to two late goals to complete the rout.

Penryn: C Symons, D Blizzard, W Harding, S Johnson, B Oliver (capt), O Moody, L Brabyn, K Lawrance, D Leach (R Chinn 60), D Broglino (S Palmer 60), R Reeve.

Penryn return to Division 1 West action in the SWPL when they entertain Porthleven on Saturday (2.15pm).
