Leeds United started their pre-season tour of the South West with a 6-0 win against Carlsberg South West Peninsula League side Tavistock on Monday evening.

Aidy White, who only last week signed a new contract with the Elland Road club, opened the scoring at Langsford Park.

New signing Paul Green, from Derby County, added a second, before a cross from White was deflected into his own net, by a Tavistock defender, to make 3-0.

Robbie Rodgers scored for the second pre-season game running to make it 4-0. Dominic Poleon added a fifth. The scoring was completed by Zac Thompson.

Leeds named a strong line-up for the match with Robert Snodgrass, Jason Pearce, Luciano Becchio and Ross McCormack all involved from the start.

It bodes well for fans travelling to Leeds' second game of the South West tour at Bodmin on Wednesday night. Leeds manager Neil Warnock could also name Luke Varney, Jamie Ashdown and Rodolph Austin for that game. All three players signed for the club on Monday.

However, Becchio is likely to miss the match against Bodmin having twisted his ankle in the win over Tavistock.
