Helston Athletic boss Sid Taylor frustrated by St Dennis draw

Helston Athletic boss Sid Taylor admitted he was left frustrated by his side’s 1-1 draw with St Dennis on Saturday.
The club went into the match, their last game of the season, needing a win to secure a second place finish in the CSWPL division one west.
However, a poor display saw them only grab a point, meaning local rival Penryn can now overhaul them if they win their games in hand.
After the game, Taylro said: “It would have been nice to do it ourselves, now we have got to rely on other results elsewhere to become runners up.
“I won't take anything away from our players though, they have had a terrific season, they have just not quite finished it off themselves at the end.
“I thought 1-0 at half-time was quite harsh on St Dennis and then we came out in the second half and give a sloppy goal away. Really we have not been at our best. We couldn’t put two or three passes together and when we did, our final ball wasn’t very good. It was just one of those off days, I’m afraid.
Taylor was upbeat about the season as a whole though. The club was only promoted to this division last summer and have exceeded expectations.
“We have been undefeated (in the CSWPL division one west) since the end of November, which in this league in the past two or three seasons would have been good enough to win it, but Newquay this year have been fantastic and deserved what they have got and Penryn have stuck at it and kept going.
“We said at the start of the season we wanted to establish ourselves in this league, I feel we have done that this season and we will need to do it again next season.”
