Helston Athletic have secured the runners up trophy from the CSWPL division one west after Penryn failed to win at home to Newquay.

Having already finished the season last week Helston knew that if Penryn won their two remaining games they would drop to third in the table.

However, a nine-goal thriller at Kernick saw league champions Newquay come away with a 6-3 victory.

Other results saw Callington win 3-1 away at Dobwalls and Porthleven beat St Dennis 3-2 at home.
