FALMOUTH Town boss Wayne Hughes said a decision on whether he will take charge next season is still to be decided.

In November he took over the reins at Bickland Park after a period of being in caretaker charge following John Dent’s resignation a month earlier.

The deal agreed was for Hughes to see the side through to the end of the current season.

Under his leadership, the team’s fortunes have improved with five league wins compared to just a single victory in the division before he took over.

With the season drawing to a close, Hughes admitted a decision on his future is up in the air.

Hughes said: “We still have to work out whether I’ll be able to do it next season.

“I’m pretty sure the club want me to carry on, but I am going to have to weigh up my work and family life as well before coming to a decision.

“Whatever happens, it won’t be decided until the season has finished so for now I’m concentrating on the last few games and that’s all.”

Hughes also sent his best wishes to Scott Kellow after the defender agreed to join South West Peninsula League West side Porthleven, where his father Phil will be taking charge next season.

“It is a shame to see him go,” Hughes said.

“But it is understandable with his dad going there as well and I have no qualms about it.

“I hope he performs well and I believe he’ll be a great addition to Porthleven.”
