A WHO’S who of Cornish footballers has been assembled to take on Falmouth Town in a match to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Bickland Park on Saturday.

Several of Falmouth’s treble-winning side of 1997 will be in attendance, including Andy Parr, Chris Strike, Andy Street and his brother Adrian.

In conjunction with the Falmouth Packet, the team has been pieced together by Mark Rapsey and will be managed by John Peters, with Gordon Render as physio. Steve Lawrence will referee the game, which will be followed by Falmouth Town’s reserves taking on St Dennis at 5pm.

The Legends match, which kicks off at 2pm, will provide a good work-out for Town’s new-look first team squad.

This week's edition of the paper also features an eight-page supplement looking back at the personalities and matches that have graced Bickland Park over the years.

Of Saturday's game, boss Andrew Westgarth said: “The occasion is more important than the match. I haven’t seen many of the Legends squad for a long time so it’ll be great to catch up and celebrate the 60th year of Bickland Park.”

Admission is £2.50.

Falmouth’s squad which lost 6-0 to Truro City in the Aubrey Wilkes Cup on Saturday will be boosted by the return of Harry Clarke and Will Trew, but recent signing David Blizzard is an injury doubt.

“Individual errors cost us several goals but it was nice for the lads to get back on the pitch,” added Westgarth.
