SID Taylor said Saturday’s game at home to fellow South West Peninsula League West title chasers Sticker will be Helston Athletic’s biggest match of the season.

The Blues head into the clash on top of the table and three wins from their last four games of the campaign will set them up for their first ever league title.

Sticker, who currently sit in fourth place and are still mathematically able to win the trophy, come to Kellaway Park on Saturday and Taylor said the result will be huge.

Taylor said: “We are looking at it as our biggest game of the season.

“Obviously the derby with Porthleven was the biggest game before, but now we’ve played that we have to look at what’s in front of us now and Sticker is a massive game for us.

“We’ve got to go and get three points off them and win three of our last four games to make sure we get the title. That is the challenge we have got to take on.”

After meeting Sticker, Athletic face a trip to another title chasing side the following week as they travel to Vospers Oak Villa, but Taylor said he is not looking too far ahead though.

“It might be boring, but we just take every game as it comes,” he said.

“If you look too far ahead then it can become dangerous and if we look after ourselves, we should do enough to win the league.”
