St Dominic 2

Porthleven 4

Porthleven produced a stunning comeback at Lovells Park to put themselves in the second round draw of the Cornwall Senior Cup.

Having gone 2-0 down thanks to a first half strike from Ryan Hargreaves, who was a menace throughout, and Jimmy Gorniack who scored a great free kick.

Having been somewhat outplayed in the first period, Port showed real character to turn the game around, starting with a Ryan Chaffin header after an hour.

Hargreaves was sent off late on and Port took full advantage, Liam Paddock scoring to put the teams all square.

With just three minutes left on the clock Ben Bassett completed the comeback for Port, and there was even time for Paddock to bag a second and add gloss to the scoreline.

Mullion 3

St Just 1

Mullion were able to transform their league form into a Senior Cup win against combo league rivals St Just, despite conceding first.

Jack Willis opened the scoring for the visitors, but Liam Hunter scored from a Darren Meagor cross shortly after to put the teams level.

What followed was a close game that was nip and tuck until Mullion winger Ashley Lawrence took matters into his own hands when he smashed a shot in off the underside of the bar.

The hosts extended their lead when a fantastic move was finished off by Hunter to put them through into the second round of the cup.

Playing for Mullion was former Premier League player Sean Flynn, who despite his 48 years showed his pedigree with an inspired performance in defence.
