NOT all games managed to beat the waether in the Whirwind Sports Falmouth-Helston League, but several cup games were played.
Falmouth Town III demolished St Day Res 9-1 and Mousehole Res pulled off a surprise 3-1 win against Holmans. Matt Williams, James Franklin and Kyle Bickmore had the goals. Neil Pitt scored for Holmans.
In the Barker Bowl Constantine ran out 4-1 winners against Carharrack and Frogpool/Cusgarne edged out Lanner 3-2 after extra time with goals from Andy Symons, Dan Hutchens and Nick Lassiter.
In division two Hayle thumped Lizard Argyle 6-0 and although Stu Hull and Matt Woodward scored for Camborne Park they were beaten 4-2 at Rosudgeon/Kenneggy.
Troon Res trounced Marazion 13-0 with Mike Catteral (5), Luke Hart, Simon Opie, Gareth Horner, David Bartlam, Richie Ward (2) and Richard Scott (2) scoring their goals.
In the Terry Jennings Cup Cararrack Res won 5-4 against Stithians Res while Ruan Minor won 3-1 against Constantine Res and Trispen won 7-0 against Lizard Argyle Res.
In a division one local derby David Williams scored the winner in Falmouth Albion’s 1-0 win against Penryn Athletic III and Ryan Thomas scored from a penalty for Perranwell Res in their 1-1 draw with Pendeen.
St Keverne picked up useful points from their 2-0 win at Stithians with goals from Alan Thomas and Steve Hosking.
Stuart McVey scored both goals in the Mawgan United’s 2-0 win against RNAS Culdrose in division two and Mawnan Res won 5-2 against Perranporth Res after scoring through Shaun Rickard, Ben Lenderyou, Chris Pellow (2) and Andrew Julian. Steve Walters and Josh Gregory had Perran’s goals.
In division three Ben Tossell, Sean Haskell, Ben Powell, and Daniel Reed netted for Mullion Res in their 4-3 win against Wendron IV and St Day III won 4-2 against Hayle IV.
In the Barker Bowl Wendron IV defeated Porthleven Rangers 4-3.
