WITH the County Bowls League Division One now in full swing, both the A and B teams have been busy, writes Ron Medlyn.

Falmouth A made a good start to the season with a win against Penryn A in their first game and followed this up with another good win against Falmouth B team. Their visit to Carnon A (league champions and against favourite to win this year) was very encouraging, so this was a keenly fought game as the Falmouth team fought all the way to the end, and it was only in the last three ends that Carnon moved ahead. However, Falmouth gave Carnon a bit of a scare, but could not take any points from them.

Their fourth game against Stithians was cancelled by Stithians unable to raise a team, an election night, their team members involved in election staff.

Falmouth B had a tough first two games, with their first game at Redruth and they were soundly beaten by a good Redruth side.

Their second game was against the A team and the A team took all the points. Against Stithians the B team secured their first points by taking all five points from Stithians. Like the A team their fourth game was cancelled on election night by Chacewater B claiming their ground was water logged.
