IT was an amazing last week in November at Budock Vean Golf Club, with some members still in shorts, very few jackets and even the Ladies were able to play.
They had a Texas Scramble competition which was won by Jenny Wake, Lesley Upperton and Angela Lawrence with a net 62.3. The Seniors played the second round of their Winter League. This was won by Bob Hartnell with 41 points and there were four with 40: Alan Mills, John Craig, Charlie Averiss and David Stevens. On Sunday the Gentlemen played the fourth round of their Winter League. Charlie Averiss won with 42 points and there were three with 40: Rod Butler, Stephen Penrose and, once again, 11-year-old Zack Cook. At the end of the Winter the players best four scores will decide the result of the competition. After four rounds Charlie Averiss is a clear leader with 158. Zack, after three rounds, has 118. Of course, all the chasing pack have, weather permitting, many rounds to catch the leaders.
