THE FINAL round of the Winter League was played out at Budock Vean Golf Club on Sunday.
Wet and windy conditions proved very testing for the players and meant no one was able to improve their best four totals used to calculate the winner.
In the end, David Penrose was crowned champion with his total of 167 points with Paul Upperton coming second with 165 and Charlie Averiss third on 164.
The best score on the day went to Tony Grace who returned to the clubhouse with a total of 35.
During the week, the club’s seniors played their first match of the year at home against Falmouth.
In a great spirited game, the hosts triumphed 4.5 – 3.5 with a return fixture due later this year.
A day later the club’s ladies played for the Olive Jackson Quaich with Lesley Upperton securing a win with her score of 36.
